The hog carcass of Emily Redman’s Grand Champion was sold for $7,500 to J&J Packing and Washington County Tractor Inc. and Brenham National Bank – Tee Dippel. The Grand Champion Lamb was sold by Conner Seely’s for $7,000 to Aspen Midstream, Capital Farm Credit, Philips Veterinary Hospital, Hodde Real Estate and Pooltex American Inc. and Aaron Flencher, Appel Ford & Hyundai of Brenham, J&J Packing, Bubba & Angie Fritsch. The Grand Champion Broilers of Reese Baade sold for $7,000 to J&J Packing. Shelby Brazak’s big hero goats were sold for $6,500 to Brent Nedbalek Triton Air LLC. Turkey’s big champion Colt Niemeyer went to EB Landworks for $4,250.

For the reserve champions, the Steer of Sterling Scheffer was sold to Bulls Eye Products & Concrete for $8,500. Barrow Reserve Champion Lorelei Cessna was sold for $7,500 to J&J Packing. Reserve Champion Emma Marth sold for $7,000 to Aspen Midstream, Philips Veterinary Hospital, Wellmann Insurance Agency, Appel Ford & Hyundai of Brenham, Citizens State Bank, Bulls Eye Products & Concrete, Washington Animal Clinic PLLC, Bank of Brenham, DLS Interiors – Dorsey Shedd, KTEX/KWHI Hospital and Brenham Veterinary Hospital. Carcass Hog was sold to reserve champ Kyle Patranella for $5,500 to Southwest Resources Inc. – Doug and Keith Sanders. Reserve champion Mason Wehmer was sold to Washington County Tractor Inc. for $4500. Meg Rodriquez, the reserve champion in Turkey, sold it to Phillips Veterinary Hospital for $3,750. Cohen Tompkins’ spare rabbit was sold for $3,500 to QuestSpecialty Inc. Brenham Bank, and the Brannon Industrial Group.

The exhibition concludes today (Saturday) with the Livestock Judging Contest at 8 am, the young hay will be transported at 9 am, the youth creations auction at 10 am for the Livestock Judging Prizes will be presented at 1 pm Also today is the commercial sale for guidance at 1 pm and the colt sale and wheels trade at 2 p.m., all in the showroom sales facility.

The Heart of America Carnival opens at 1 p.m., and other fair activities such as a children’s petting zoo, county store, rustic creative fairs, and antique farm equipment displays will be open throughout the day. Hay drawing contest for youngsters and painted pigs begins at 6 p.m., followed by CPRA Rodeo competition with calf scramble and wild guide saddle at 7:30 p.m.

Tonight’s concert is Gary Durrenberger from 5-9pm in the food court, followed by performances in Drew Parker’s Entertainment Pavilion at 8pm and Roots & Boots – Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye and Sammy Kershaw – at 10pm
