Barnes Courtney returns with ‘Supernatural’

With over a billion global career paths to date and critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, Billboard, Rock Sound and more, Barnes Courtney returns with a vengeance with the first release of his upcoming album Supernatural. Establishing his position as the leading light in rocky space, the track introduces a new era of Barns Courtney, complete with an entirely new look and story.

With “Supernatural,” what can be tied to a quintessential relationship track quickly establishes itself as a song about desire with its rumbling vocal style detailing “the way one dances in and out of each other’s lives.” The violently themed track features flammable guitar holes and the infectious presence synonymous with Barns Courtney.

The Seattle-born, UK-born singer-songwriter presents a range of works inspired by his wide-ranging obsessions (Oscar Wilde’s writings, Ritual Icons and Ancient Legends, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, to name a few), all crystallized into a detailed, focused narrative On the leader of a post-apocalyptic cult. Each upcoming track will introduce additional details, effectively building a world created by the artist.

Music, for Barns Courtney, “is the ability to relate to other human beings in a way that is completely unconstrained by societal norms. If you do it right, you can raise people’s level, you can help them break their inhibitions, and you can make them feel like they have been transported into a different world. Absolutely. The opportunity to do this for others will always be the real attraction for me.”

Full of dynamism and fierce creativity, Barnes Courtney has an unbridled passion rare in the modern music scene. Expanding on the extraordinary dynamism that has led Rolling Stone to praise it as a “balancing act of rock ‘n’ roll teetering between bright light and total darkness,” Barn’s upcoming album finally marks the beginning of Kourtney’s most captivating era to date.

Barns has already received critical acclaim with several gold singles in the US and UK including “Glitter and Gold” and “Fire” Gold Certified, as well as winning Top 5 alternative radio shows with “99”. Shows on Conan and The Late Late Show with James Corden and syncing video games including Apex Legends, FIFA 17, and more have helped propel Barns to the top of the rock world.

Featuring over a billion global channels to date, Barns Courtney is soon “a way out of the old” and can’t wait to come back with more accolades. Courtney’s recent efforts with producers such as six-time Grammy Award winner David Greenbaum (Beck, Gorillas, Cage the Elephant), were made into a series of free sessions at legendary studios such as Sunset Sound, Henson Recording Studios and United Recording, eventually completed by Barns and Martin Eden at Libertines Studio “The Albion Rooms”.

While each song highlights the strong vocal presence he brought to previous hits like “Fire” (smashing Radio Top 5 Triple A) and performed on stage at such illustrious concerts as opening for The Libertines, Ed Sheeran, My Chemical Romance, and The Who And, more, the album unfolds with a high-powered sound that ranges from glam to punk to cool garage rock. And as Courtney reveals, creating such an ambitious project helped undo the disappointment that followed a long period of relentless touring.
