Bray Wyatt impressively returned to SmackDown Friday night after nearly a week of crypto promotions featuring white rabbits that signaled his big comeback at Extreme Rules last weekend.
Wyatt carried his signature lantern to the ring as fans shined the lights on from their cell phones at the all-black Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. But when he stepped through the ropes, fans saw a different side of the professional wrestler. Instead of the character “The Fiend”, he poured his heart out.
“I’m so grateful,” White said. “I’m really nervous to be here. I didn’t think this was going to happen.” “This here, that’s just me ok? This is a version of me that I’ve never been able to give you before. This is just me – I’m praying – for the first time.”

White has made it clear over the past year that he has lost a lot of friends and things in his life.
“I lost my career. I lost my self-confidence. I lost two people who were very, very close to me. I lost my way,” he said. “I got to a point where I thought everything I had done here or otherwise, was all pointless. Nothing I did cared about anyone at all. And I was wrong.”
“Once I was done feeling sorry for myself, I decided to go out in the world again and see…people everywhere would say, ‘Thank you, Bray.'” When do you come home? And then every now and then, there’s going to be someone I’m going to meet who’s going to be really cool, and you know who you are. But those people are going to come up to me. They’d come up to me, and they’d say, ‘Bray, I just wanted to thank you man because I was in my time of need, and I lost people’ Who were close to me, I lost my self-confidence, I felt weak, I felt weak, and in this weakness. I remember finding your words, Bray. I found your word, and just wanted to thank you man. You saved my life, Bray.
The Rock surprised a fan with the photo after waiting for nearly 3 hours: ‘I just can’t believe it’
“The truth is I don’t think about things like that. And the thing about that is that I can sit here right now, I can look you all in the eyes, and I can tell you were there when I was weak, when I was weak, when I was down, and I just wanted to I say, ‘Thanks, you all saved my life.’
As White’s speech ended, the lights went out again and a scary mask appeared on the video board with a message.
White is back at Extreme Rules after his Matt Riddle-Seth Rollins match. WWE has been teasing Wyatt’s possible comeback since last month. Hints suggested Wyatt would be back about 15 months after his release from the company, but that wasn’t 100% certain. The company will also play Jefferson Airplane’s White Rabbit during live events and home shows.
Wyatt’s “Fiend” has been a favorite of WWE in recent years. WWE was able to make the character thrive during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, and he got into epic feuds with John Cena and Randy Orton.

Wyatt’s character as a cult leader was also well received when she started in 2013. However, Wyatt was released on July 31, 2021. His release marked the end of his 12 years in WWE.
