Granaderos recently spoke with CBR about the demon sub-genre of horror, and how it was related to its character, intense movie sequences, and superheroes.
CBR: ExorcistAnd the Prince of DarknessAnd the Devil’s rainAnd the The last exorcism All of this comes to mind when talking about satanic or satanic movies. What about the topic that really gets people under their skin?
Timothy Granadros: It’s something that people can’t fully comprehend, and they’re not sure if it’s real or not. The idea of it being real scares them. from my point of view … ExorcistAnd the scars…those movies are terrifying in my opinion. There is this darkness that you cannot fully explain. It’s all around you, and you might not even know it. This is Terrifying.
He introduced us to Clayton and the rabbit hole he’s going down.
When we meet Clayton, he is a 30-year-old actor who is struggling. He has his own emotional baggage that he doesn’t really want to unpack at the time. He gets a response for a role played by a demon realm. Placing a post and searching for a true demonic realm in hopes of exploring this role and getting to know it a little better, [he] She connects with Eliza Atwood, who happens to be a demonologist. She invited him to her house. He stays with her, and everything is revealed.
Clayton is very hungry for this part. As an actor, was this something you could relate to?
yes. It’s always important not to be too invested in a role or too desperate. Inevitably, if you fall in love with a role, it’s going to be really tough when it’s not in your way. I can relate to Clayton wanting the role very strongly, sure, but don’t tell the acting agent I said anything.
He goes to extremes to do his due diligence. What is a file [wildest] The thing you did before to part?
Lots of things, honestly. Most of it starts right here, in front of my computer – a lot of super-twisted Google searches done by the FBI [is] Maybe aware. So just letting my mind go to these extremely dark and uncomfortable places is probably [wildest].
Much of the narration is illustrated in this Gothic mansion. How many photos were shot on location, and what kind of atmosphere did that create?
We shot in Mississippi, in a house, in an area hard hit by Hurricane Katrina. home escaped. It was really scary before they even designed it, then set designer Craig Rose stepped in and took it to the next level. In many ways, it has to be a character in its own right, and they did a good job of making it so, sure. I don’t think anything was done outside the house. Maybe they added two chairs.
Eliza sounds funky and a little weird, but killing a goat should have been a huge red flag. What keeps Clayton there?
This is a good question we ask ourselves often. There is this charming allure that is emotionally challenged. There is also a maternal relationship in a strange way. Clayton was shocked by his mother and how close they were. Elisa, in a way, represents this number. Even though it was getting really weird, I don’t think he could leave. I think he is mentally and physically there. I have invested.
In one of the sequences, you appear pointed and dipped in goat blood. How did you prepare for that?
I went to a goat farm. no. I am actually a vegetarian so any things with animals are always touching and going with me, but it was more than just accommodating. Therapists took care of them back in the day. I love goats. no kidding. I think they are my spiritual animal. More than anything, I was freezing. You are so cool. I remember them bringing geysers, and I was shivering. They thought I was a character, but I was freezing.
How long does it take to get rid of the gooey, sticky fake blood taste from your mouth and clean it up after today?
I feel like in every project I’ve been on, I’ve either been in blood or a lot of sweat or mud. You’re used to the process of getting everything out of your hair and getting to the point where you’re good enough to get in your car and go home. It’s always a little sticky.
Your character has some really weak scenes. What was it like entering this void?
You just have to submit your reservations and insecurities, stick to them, and go for it. There’s obviously a bit of an annoyance doing that, but I think once you get to the point where you don’t have to worry about all the outside things, you can commit to being in that moment. This acting in general, so maybe acting prepared me for that. You just have to remove the clothes from it.
Do you suffer from nightmares while filming those moments?
I have an actor’s nightmare. It may not seem daunting to you, but it is terrifying to me, which is to be prepared, not knowing which of my streaks … any of them, as far as I try. This is a real nightmare for me. In relation to other things, occasionally, but not necessarily related to work. It’s just plain scary dreams.
She starred as a guest in the TV series fugitives. These days, the big ticket in Hollywood seems to be superhero projects. Have you ever auditioned for one of these roles?
I am definitely impressed. I auditioned for the role of Greg Sulkin fugitives. I love to play the super hero. I think it would be fun…the complexity of taking on a role like that and committing to playing a superhero would be good for me. bring it.
Are there any characters in the DCEU or the MCU that speak to you?
I don’t know. I’ll let the fans decide. I’m on the whim of my looks. I’ll let them decide. My friend Ross Butler is here Shazam Now, so it would be fun to do something in this world.
I guess we can say one thing that doesn’t scare you is spandex and tight-fitting clothes…
That’s a lot of clothes for me. Maybe someone without a shirt.
