Important dates for food delivery and fairs at SC State Fair

If you sign up for a chance to win a blue ribbon with your cooking, artwork, or animals, here are the dates you need to know.

Columbia, South Carolina – IN South Carolina State Fair It starts on October 12 and ends on October 23.

Below is a list of all the days and days of landing so you can see the animal verdict.

To judge rabbits and guinea pigs, the judging takes place before fairness and is open to the public.

Verdict on rabbit, hollow and chicken/poultry: Saturday 10 September – Carry-Cage (pre-show)

Delivery including poultry: Tuesday October 11 – 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

4-H State Poultry Fair Competition: Saturday October 22 – 10:00 AM

4-H State Rabbit Showmanship Contest: Saturday October 22 – 10:00 AM

If you enter items in fine arts competition, Below are the delivery dates.

For fine art, you have three days to deliver the artwork. These are also the days of dropping out posts in the Student Arts department.

  • Sunday 25 September – 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Monday 26th September – 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday 27 September – 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Introducing your own grown items: These should be dropped off on Sunday October 9 between noon and 5 pm and on Monday October 10 from 8 am to 6 pm Enter through Gate 11 on Bluff Road and head to the Ellison Building. You have to deliver in person, you can’t mail it.

Scarecrow Contest: Saturday 15 October: 2 pm

For those who entered Household and craft tools At the fair, here are the top days for submission of entries:

  • Mini shows, canning, fabrics and yarns, crafts, seniors, special care, 4 hours and youth on Tuesday 4 October and Wednesday 5 October from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm
  • Food Monday, October 10 from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Baking competitions:

  • King Arthur Flour Best Cupcakes Competition: Monday 10 October
  • Best Party Appetizer Contest: Tuesday, October 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Live refereeing at 4:00 pm
  • Pumpkin decorating competition: Sunday, October 16th at 2:00 pm. Starting at 4:00 pm

Delivery days for flowers:

  • Potted plants and fairy gardens: Monday, October 10 – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Gardening cuts: Tuesday, October 18 – 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

If you are entering a file dairy cowIt can be Jersey, Holstein, Guernsey, Swiss Brown or Ayrshire, check-in will be on Wednesday and Thursday October 12 and 13 from 8am-4pm

Judging for dairy cows starts on Friday 14th and runs through Sunday 16th October.

The beef cattle dates Tuesday, October 18 at 4 PM for check-in.

The show accepts entry for Angus, Charolais, Crossbred, AOB, feeders steers (juniors only) Gelbvieh, Hereford, Red Angus, Santa Gertrudis, Shorthorn, Simmental, Sim Angus, breed-based Zebu, hybrid and mini Zebu (open only).

Close books: Wednesday, October 19: 4pm (Junior show until Friday, October 21: 4pm)
