Seoul’s Best Bartenders Create Creative Cocktails at ‘Accor Bar Exchange’

Pernod Ricard Korea will hold a promotion for “Accor Bar Exchange” with international hotels of the “Accor” chain of hotels.

International liquor company Pernod Ricard Korea announced on September 20 that it will hold an “Accor Bar Exchange” with international hotels belonging to the “Accor” chain.

The ‘Accor Bar Exchange’ promotion will showcase the talent and creativity of Accor’s bartenders and will take place at The Fairmont’s rooftop main bar M29, The Mondrian’s Itaewon Bar, and Sofitel Latitude 32’s bar from August 21 to early October.

Representative bartenders from each hotel will reinterpret bourbon whiskey, Rabbit Hole Cavehill, leading Italian brand of Malfy gin, and French tapas Lillet to serve up three different creative cocktails.

Pernod Ricard Korea plans to provide consumers with new cocktail experiences that reinterpret Rabbit Hole Cavehill, Malfy and Lillet through its “Accor Bar Exchange” promotion.

The bourbon brand “Rabbit Hole Cavehill” whiskey is a unique bourbon that includes honey malted barley in addition to its main ingredients, corn, wheat and malted barley. The original four-grain blend adds a special uniqueness to the bourbon unlike other bourbon whiskeys on the market. Rabbit Hole Cavehill is pumpkin red and offers a rich aroma of spice with the sweetness of honey and the aroma of fresh apples. Moreover, the soft flavor of vanilla and custard cream leaves a smooth aftertaste while the citrusy undertones remain in the mouth.

Inspired by the free and elegant Italian Dolce Vita lifestyle on the Amalfi Coast, Malfy gin is made from Italy using the finest ingredients from Italy including Italian juniper berries, lemon, pink grapefruit and Sicilian orange. Malfy’s unique citrus style is complemented by a blend of fresh fruits and a special cold distillation method.

Lillet is an aperitif white wine based in Bordeaux, France and widely enjoyed by the British Royal Family and the White House. In particular, the subtle floral and orange scent is created by the exquisite blending of carefully selected wine and fruit extracts in order to provide an elegant and delicate flavour. Lillet is best served cold and a spritz cocktail.

Hwang Kyu-hyun, a Vermont sommelier, designs cocktails such as the Spring Fruit, Surfer mariposa, and Full of Autumn based on “Rabbit Hole Cavehill” whiskey. Cho Hee-jin, the sommelier in Mondrian, serves La Dolce Vita, Under the Amalfy Sun and Caffettino with a Malfy. Kim Yoon Shik, a Sofitel waiter, will serve Foam Blanc, Basil Blanc and Lilitronie with an aperitif.

This promotion is special in that the representative bartenders from each hotel will rotate between these three hotels for three weeks to showcase their creative cocktails to more customers. During the first week, the program will take place in each hotel from the 21st (Wednesday) to the 25th (Sun) and in the second week, the waiter at the Sofitel will move to the Mondrian while the waiter at the Mondrian will move to Vermont; Each representative bartender showcases their own creative cocktails in three different hotels. The program will take place over a period of three weeks for the entire rotation of the hotel and for consumers to cater to a variety of cocktails.
