Here to help you get BOO-zy Halloween!
Happy October! This month is filled with plenty of typical autumnal things: midterm, rainy weather, the return of black at 5 p.m., but also Halloween! Whether you love dressing up or hate it, Halloween events are always a good excuse for a night out and I highly recommend taking a look at this list to see what Glasgow has to offer on Halloween.
1. Big Fat Scary Halloween Contest In Committee Room No. 9. (Friday, October 28)
If club nights aren’t your thing, maybe pub quiz? Chill vibes, a chance to dress up without having to dance, and a huge bar tab on the line? Involve me!
2. After Dark with Bloody Hop in a rumor. (Sunday October 3rd)
OnTheLow Halloween Club Night at Rumor is Held with Special Guest, Love Island 2022 alum, Dami Hope! With DJs playing afrobeat, hip-hop, rap, and more, this event is sure to go well! Costumes are optional (but come on, it’s Halloween). 10:30 PM to 3 AM is pure emotion in my opinion. Almost sold out but got the latest edition tickets and table packages for the event over here.
3. Down the Rabbit Hole: Psychedelic Wonder In Oran More. (Friday, October 28)
An immersive Halloween experience with the event billed as a 10-foot Mad Hatter, 3D visuals, giant inflatable bunnies and more. This strange event seems to be unforgettable and, in my opinion, largely unmissable.
4. Halloween rocky goosebumps in the platform. (Saturday, October 29)
The ultimate Halloween classic. The event is a singing show of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with (hopefully) some costume but I couldn’t find anything to confirm it – although this might be the only place no one will give you two looks if you show it even in shiny gold hot pants And nothing else.
5. Glasgow In the botanical gardens. (October 26 – November 13)
Glasgow Classics. The Botanical Gardens are transformed with beautiful lights and a new theme every year (this year’s “The Land That Time Forgot”, aka Dinosaurs – Yas). Their website says GlasGLOW is back this Halloween, and it’s bigger and better than ever, after selling for four years and thousands of five-star reviews. Explore the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, with an epic 60 minute outdoor adventure, Return of Marshmallow Land, our gourmet street food village and amazing GLOW Bar. Basically a load of healthy fun and pretty lights! Definitely worth a visit with your sweetheart, friends or your S/O. Tickets sell out fast but get your tickets over here.
6. Bongo’s Bingo Introduces Southern Comfort’s House Of Boo in SWG3. (Thursday, October 27)
Who doesn’t love a little bingo?! The classic SWG3 is hosting a Halloween party which sounds great to me.
7. The House of Halloween Disco in social. (Saturday, October 29)
Gifts, DJs, musicians, costumes and cocktails. What more could you want for Halloween? Or more precisely, the Friday before Halloween.
8. Halloween XL In the Sub Club. (Monday, October 31)
Classic Subbie. You probably don’t put much effort into your outfit, because you’ll most likely end up sweating and heating up in an hour anyway…
9. Lady Bingo Balls Special for Halloween At Hillhead Bookclub. (Wed 27)
Clouds and bingo go hand in hand. Add some horror and you’ll have a great evening. Plus, it’s free entry – so absolutely no excuse.
10. FINALLY… HALLOWEEN DAY AND NIGHT in the sanctuary. (Sunday, October 30)
Sank Sandys but make it start at 4 p.m. – I salute you if you run the whole event, Lord knows I’ll be asleep in the corner. As with all of these costumes, costumes are expected to be unrequited.
Did this list inspire you to attend something next week? Did we miss anything you’re going to bring? What outfit are you wearing? Talk to us about it on our website Instagram. (thetab_glasgow)
