The South Carolina State Fair returns Wednesday, here’s what you need to know | Pittsburgh Leesville

The 153rd South Carolina State Fair returns Wednesday, offering a full selection of traditional favorites and a variety of new games, foods, and entertainment.

Tuesday is the last day to purchase discounted admission tickets and discount flight vouchers. visit SCStateFair.org Or the participating Circle K website to purchase discount tickets.

Here are some new experiences to look at at this year’s fair:

  • New games: Flying jumbos, Monkey Maze, Giant Vertigo and Sky Screamer
  • New food: Steak Poutine Sundaes, cream-topped funnel cookies and elephant ears, fried moon pies and watermelon iced tea.
  • Traveling to the Moon Exhibition: The Moon Museum, an international traveling exhibition sponsored by South Carolina ETV, will be shown in the Kanti Building.
  • Fairness of Your Army: The United States Army, the South Carolina Army National Guard, and the US Army Cadets Command will display equipment and soldiers from various military career disciplines. Your Fair Your Army is free with fair admission and can be found at the following three locations: the game trailer located at the north end of the fairground next to Rocket, inside the Ruff Building, and near the south gate next to the Moore Building.

Food and drinks

Guests have a large variety of dining options at the State Fair with over 90 food stalls to choose from.

Fair staples will also be back this year, including Fisk Fries, Foot-Long Corndog, Greek Salad and much more. Warm cookies and milk await guests in the expansive cake kitchen located in Rosewoods Salon.

Horse riding and fun

This year’s fair will feature more than 60 rides from thrillers in the sky to fun family-friendly rides.

The SC State Fair will include paid ride days (POP) each day. Patrons can enjoy unlimited rides by redeeming the ride voucher for a POP wristband at premium ticket kiosks.

The following entertainment events will be held at the SC State Fair this year. visit SCStateFair.org For a complete list of entertainment.

  • Circus in the Fair: A free daily circus presenting a new tent, new works, and never-before-seen performances. Located next to the Ellison Building near the entrance to the South Gate, the circus will perform three 40-minute shows each day. Shows start at 2pm, 4:30pm and 7:30pm Daily admission to the circus is free with your fair entry ticket.

  • Music: The following bands will perform every night at 7 p.m. on the Pepsi Place Theatre. Show music group over here.

  • Heritage Village: Experience the wonders of the past where a display of entertainment, handicrafts, pot-turning and pottery from years past will be on display.

  • Roaming Shows and Academy Avenue Theater: Featuring a mix of animated and theatrical performances, including various musical performances, dance groups, animal works, magicians, jugglers, stunt performers and other performers.

Art and flower exhibition

  • Flower arrangements will be distributed among a wide range of artworks throughout the Kanti building.

  • Patrons can tour the Kanti Building’s fine art department seeing the work of some of the state’s best amateur, professional, and student artists.

Agriculture and Livestock

  • South Carolina residents will compete for bragging rights and a blue ribbon with their local produce.

  • Visit live farm animals, including pigs, sheep, rabbits, horses and more.

Daily Deals

The SC State Fair offers the following daily promotions:

  • Children: All children 5 years old and younger will be admitted free of charge each day.

  • Seniors: $15 per day admission.

  • One-Price Ride Days (POP): Patrons can enjoy unlimited rides by redeeming a ride voucher for a POP wristband at premium ticket kiosks.

  • Lunch Package: In and out of the SC State Fair for lunch with a special lunch package ticket, available from 12-2 p.m. every day of the week (except Wednesday, October 12). Pay your entrance fee and get a $20 refundable ticket. Return to the ticket booth with your ticket by 2pm to get your money back.
