The Medieval is the third world that players can visit in LEGO Bricktales. At this level, the citizens of the kingdom fall ill and it is up to the players to find out the cause of their illness, as well as find the cure.
In this guide, we’ll talk about the medieval level in LEGO Bricktales, how to solve structures and puzzles, and locate collectibles within the level.
Roaming and building in the Middle Ages
Reach inside the castle walls. Head to the castle and talk to the king. Next, go to the chief of the guard standing at the gate and he will tell you to get a sword before you can get out. Then you head to Industrious Smith, but the coals run out and you need to go to Charburner.
However, Charburner is sick and needs your help getting coal by fixing the carriage. The design shown in the examples below is a simple, if not the simplest solution, but you can change the design as you like, as long as it passes the goal.
Medieval Building #1 – Charcoal Chariot
For the coal cart, you need to lay the long 2×2 bricks along the sides first, then place the thin blocks on both ends. Make sure the slopes are facing inland to catch all the coals. You also need to use 2 x 3 boards to make two layers of flooring inside the cart to prevent the coals from getting stuck when poured. Do not make the wall facing the dumping spot too high, otherwise the coals will overflow.
Once you’re done, get your sword by the blacksmith and head back to the guard.
Medieval Building #2 – Stone Bridge
With the sword in hand, you will then be able to venture outside the castle. You will then need to build a stone bridge to cross to the other side. Make use of the brackets to be able to reach both ends of the gap.
Explore the area and head to the northwest path where you will pass by a Wizard Imposter who needs help with his rabbits.
Enter the cave that leads to the dragon’s den. Head to the east end and follow the path down to the lower level. When you come to a standstill, head west and you’ll be able to grab your whip for other collectibles in the area. Go back to the highest level and climb the stairs to reach the exit. Head back upstairs and talk to the dragon and it will require you to collect gold before it will allow you to enter the skill temple.
Open the portal near the bunker to get a shortcut to get back into the forest. You then need to talk to several people at that level to do some odd jobs in exchange for some gold. First, visit Scatty Wizard Weniglin.
Medieval Building #3 – Sitting Chick
Return to where you first arrived in the forest and head east to reach the wizard’s house. You’ll meet Scatty Wizard Weniglin and he needs your help to create a seat for his owl.
You can start construction by biting off the 1×1 long nails and making a platform low enough that the owl can either fit into or move away from the top base. Then, if you put the owl on the side, you will have to balance the chick by adding more blocks to the other side. You can use the counter in the upper right corner to see if the seat is unbalanced. Once done, you will be rewarded with a gold coin.
Medieval Building No. 4 – OK
Go back to the castle and talk to the Well-Builder. You will then have to build a well. Build the walls of the well first, then place the long boards across the walls so that the main bucket can fit in the middle. Then finish your wish with any blocks you want.
Medieval Building No. 5 – Chicken Fence
Next, head over to Chicken Keeper and she will ask you to build a fence for her chickens. You can make a very simple fence out of a few stones as long as it keeps the chickens from escaping.
Medieval Building #6 – Balcony
Next, talk to Minstrel and ask you to make a balcony for the princess. block filler marks on this construction; It is better to use studded boards rather than flat or long boards for the places that need to be filled. Also, make sure it is properly supported and fixed to the wall.
Medieval Building #7 – Crenellations
Head inside the castle and go up the stairs to the left to meet the architect. It will then ask you to create scaffolding for the walls. Any crenellation design will be performed as long as you cover the selected areas correctly.
Medieval Building #8 – Throne
Next, head to Jester in the King’s room and she’ll ask you to create the King’s throne. Do whatever design you like, just make sure the seat is above the floor and the crown is over the seat.
Medieval Building No. 9 – King Statue
Finally, talk to Jester again and she will give you the key to the locker. Here I will need to find a statue of the king and some artificial flowers. Once you’re done, head back to the king’s room and build the statue scene for the king. Any design will do as long as there are at least 10 stones, and the statue of the king in them. Once you collect your gold coin from the clown, go back to the dragon.
The dragon will allow you to enter inside the skill temple. Here, you will learn the water skill that allows you to wash away any dirt and fill any bowl with water. Get the skill in the middle of the temple to begin with. Since it is a skill temple, you will only be able to use one skill at a time between Smash and Water skills.
To solve the skill structure, follow these steps:
- Switch to Water skill and head down the ladder towards the north
- Use the first bridge wheel to flip the bridge and then switch to Smash to destroy any chests
- Go down the stairs again to get the suspicious potion, then go to the water
- Go back and fill the bowl with water to make the water rise
- Use the wheel to open a portal that hides the second bridge wheel
- Use the second bridge wheel to reach the other side
- Switch to Smash to destroy chests
- Return to the water to wash the lever lowering the gate
- Go up again and fill the bowl to raise the water level again, letting you out
Before heading out, use your water and smash skills to get to the chest at the back of the room to get some drumsticks.
Return to the castle and use your water skill to treat the sick. After that, report to the king and he will ask you to find the culprit of poisoning. Head to the wizard’s house to find out that the wizard is the culprit all along. Go back to the king and he will tell you to help the chef. Talk to the chef in the castle hall and you will be asked to fix the banquet table.
Medieval Building No. 10 – Banquet Table
For a banquet table, we recommend using 1×1 studs for each leg, followed by an inverted ramp. This way, the long boards will be able to sit on top of the legs. Make sure the sandwich is the center of the top and bottom sides as the turkey can be quite heavy.
After this building, the kingdom will hold a banquet and then receive another happiness crystal.
Return to the theme park to rebuild the next attraction. This build is not part of completing the medieval level, but it unlocks the next level.
Medieval animal collectibles
At the medieval level, there are a total of 20 animals to be collected. 15 of them can be found during the first round through the level, while the other five will require a re-visit once you gain the abilities to reach them. Check out our complete guide to animal locations on all the animal locations in LEGO Bricktales Medieval Level.
In the Middle Ages, you will find four (4) of each type of animal, with the hare as the main animal for the level Wizard Imposter needs.
There are a total of 13 chests that can be found within the Medieval level. Not all of them can be found during the first round as you will need to gain additional abilities to access them. Check out our guide for chest locations in all medieval level chest locations in LEGO Bricktales.
